BLACK-N-GOLD NEWS

In an effort to keep you as up-to-date as possible with the latest on everyone's favorite Black-N-Gold teams, Mrs. Black-N-Gold is going to begin a new weekly feature that will highlight the latest news on your Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates and Steelers. It's called, appropriately enough, The Black-N-Gold News.

BLACK-N-GOLD NEWS
Penguins-The Pens are coming off a 2-0 home loss to Boston yesterday. C Sidney Crosby was a late scratch and C Evegeni Malkin left the game early following a hit from Boston's Chris Kelly. The Pens finish their homestand this afternoon vs. the Detroit Red Wings at 12:30pm on NBC. It's not known if Sid or Geno will play. We do know that G Marc-Andre Fleury will be in net for the Pens. Following this afternoon's game, the Pens are on the road for the next three. They'll begin that road trip Tuesday night when the puck drops at 7pm in New Jersey. Let's Go Pens!!!

Pirates-The Pirates continue to get their spring training work in at Bradenton. This afternoon's game against the Baltimore Orioles will be a Root Sports telecast at 1pm. CF Andrew McCutchen is not expected in the lineup. Cutch has missed the last few games due to a lower body injury. The Pirates made some roster moves yesterday when they re-assigned 5 players to their minor league camp-RHs Tyler Glasnow, Adrian Sampson, Wilfredo Boscan, and Angel Sanchez and OF Keon Broxton. Let's Go Bucs!!!!!

Steelers-The Steelers began the free agency period quietly this week. However, they ended it with a bang, announcing on Friday that they've inked QB Ben Roethlisberger to an extension. They also signed RB DeAngelo Williams to back-up Le'Veon Bell. Still no word on S Troy Polamalu's status with the team. The Steelers are expected to bring in free agent CB Patrick Robinson, formerly of the Saints, for a visit. Let's Go Steelers!!!!!!
