THE BULLPEN

The crack of the bat, the thrill of the hit! Your Pittsburgh Pirates close out their 3-games series with the Cincinnati Dreds this afternoon an PNC Park. RH Mat Latos, 0-0 with a 2.84 ERA goes for the Dreds. RH Phil Irwin will get the spot start in Wandy's place. These are your keys to today's game. 1)The Pirates look to do a little house cleaning and sweep the Dreds back to Cincy. The last home sweep of Cincy was April 16-18, 2010. Break out the brooms! 2)It's been a Marte Party, of late. Starling has been sterling in the leadoff spot. He's batting .341 and drove in a run last night. The hits just keep on coming! 3)The Pirates have won 4 of the last 5. GI Jones has swung a hot bat during this run, going 8 for 18 with a homer. He had 2 hits and an RBI last night. The Dreds have dropped 4 in a row while getting outscored 24-7 in that stretch. Please remember: Hit, Run, Score, always go for more! Let's Go Bucs!!!!!
