Hi, my name is A.J. Burnett. I'm a 36-year-old right-handed pitcher for the Pittsurgh Pirates and I suffer from lack of run support syndrome. I have a record of 3-5 this season with a 2.72 ERA. In my last 5 starts, I'm 0-3 with a 2.91 ERA. Why am I winless in my last 5 starts? It may be because my team has only scored 6 runs in those last 5 starts. No one knows for sure. The only thing they do know is that the team that scores the most runs wins the game. This is an afflication many pitchers have to live with every day. That's why I need your help to find the cure.
