SLAP SHOTS

Michael, Michael, motorcycle, it's a hockey night in Pittsburgh! Our Pittsburgh Penguins return home tonight to face the Minnesota Wild tonight at Consol Energy Center. These are your keys for tonight's game. 1)Minnesota has been going Wild with a 10-3-3 start, good for 23 points. They're 6-2-2 in their last 10. The Pens are 10-7-0 with 20 points. Although they're 7-3-0 in their last 10 games, they've lost 3 of the last 4 and 2 straight. Having an offense that is ranked 27th in the league with a 2.1 goals per game average doesn't help. Light the lamp with some Goals, Goals, Goals! 2)The Wild bring with them the 25th ranked penalty kill in the league at 75.7%. That should help the Pens 29th ranked power play (12.3%). Man-up. Take advantage of the man-advantage! 3)Scoring is down across the league and has been for quite sometime now. If this lack of offense keeps up, the owners will also begin to notice that ratings and attendance is down, too. That's throughout the entire league, not just with the Pens. It's like watching ice melt. Still, you'd think Mario and Burkle would be upset that they're paying Sid and Geno big money to score and they're not getting it done. Better start making hay and find the net, boys! Let's Go Pens!!!
